  • Energy Assistance :

    SCE Medical Baseline Allocation
    Gives qualified customerís additional electricity at the "baseline" rate for specific illnesses that includes multiple sclerosis. Find out if you qualify, call 1-800- 655-4555.

    CARE (California Alternative Rates for Energy)
    The Gas Company -offers 20% discount for gas customers who meet program income guidelines. 1-800-427-2200.
    Southern CA Edison- 1800-447-6620

    DAP (Direct Assistance Program)
    Provides energy and efficient home improvements at no cost to income qualified customers who are permanently disabled or are 60+ years old. 1-800-331-7593.

  • Transportation :

    Sun Dial Bus
    Door to door transportation service for those with mobility problems that cannot get on a regular bus. Call 323-4010 for application. $1.50 - $2.00 each way. Call 341-6999 to schedule pick-up after application is accepted.

  • Other Local Resources:

    Community Access
    Provides forms and helps fill out information to apply for low income housing and more. Call 347-4888 for information.

    Financial Assistance Programs
    They list financial help available for Chore Service, Durable Medical Equipment, Emergency Fund, Physical/Occupational therapy, Respite Fund. Call Pam Hirshberg, 1-800-Fight-MS.

    HICAP (Health Insurance Counseling and Advocacy Program)
    is a volunteer supported advocacy program that assists with Medicare and MediCal. They understand insurance coverage and consumer rights, can file claims, assist with managed care issues and long-term care planning, and evaluate insurance and health care needs and perform some legal services. Call 800-434-0222.

    1-800-510-2020 for information and assistance with housing, food, insurance, employment and more.
